Academic translation requires more than language fluency. A researcher translating a paper on marine biology needs a translator who understands marine biology, not just Italian and English. Generic translation of technical academic text produces something that is grammatically correct and factually wrong. We have seen it.

We match academic documents to translators with formal education or professional background in the relevant field. For a linguistics thesis, you get a linguist. For a paper on agricultural policy, you get someone who understands EU agricultural frameworks. This is not always possible for every niche, and when it is not, we say so before taking the work.

Academic translation also requires attention to format. Citations must be preserved in their original style (APA, MLA, Chicago, Vancouver, etc.). Footnotes and endnotes must survive the translation process intact. Tables, figures, and their captions must remain coherent. We deliver in the same format we receive.
